Workflow guides

Your first YouTube workflow with SMTasker

A useful first workflow has a clear purpose. Before opening the settings, write down which YouTube account you are using, what you want the routine to do, and what you will check afterward. This makes the setup easier to review and gives the first run a concrete boundary.

Begin with the account and the device

SMTasker runs its supported YouTube actions through the mobile app on a connected Android device. The local client runs on Windows or macOS. Keep the client running and the device connected while the routine runs. Confirm that the correct YouTube account is signed in before configuring any actions.

Start with one account and one device. If you manage several channels, record which account belongs to which device. A clear account map helps you avoid preparing a routine in the wrong context.

Choose one action

The current YouTube tools are Video Viewer, Shorts Viewer, Video Likes, Comments, and Channel Subscriptions. Regular videos and Shorts use separate viewing tools. Select the tool that matches your intended action, rather than enabling several tools together at the beginning.

For example, you could use a viewing routine to understand how the configured sources are reached and how completed activity appears in the logs. Add another action only after you understand the first setup.

Review sources, timing, and limits

Check the discovery inputs supported by the tool you selected. Make sure they are relevant to the account’s purpose. Then review active periods, running days, and daily limits. Keep your own notes about the settings you chose so you can explain a later change.

Limits are operating controls; they are not a guarantee of account safety, policy compliance, reach, or channel growth. Review YouTube’s rules and your own account requirements before running a workflow.

Treat comments as public content

A public comment deserves a separate review. Read the prepared wording, check that it makes sense for the intended context, and remove anything repetitive or unrelated. Device activity and successful execution do not tell you whether a comment was useful to its audience.

Inspect the first run before expanding

Review completed actions, errors, and device status. If the activity differs from your intent, pause the routine and investigate. Change one setting at a time and record the reason. This helps you distinguish the effect of a source change from a timing or content change.

Skye AI Manager can help explain settings and prepare supported workflows. Review its proposed configuration and permissions before applying changes. You can also configure the dashboard directly. AI provider usage requires your own supported API key and is billed separately.

Keep a short review record

After the first session, note the account, tool, sources, active period, completed activity, and anything that needs attention. Use this record to decide whether the workflow is ready for another session. Expand only when you can explain what the existing routine does.
